The HSE believes that the majority of duty holders are addressing their responsibilities under the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations (LINK TO HSE), and is now looking for ways to increase awareness amongst contractors and maintenance workers, (Regulation 10, Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations (LINK TO HSE).
Regulation 10 of the control of asbestos at work regulations 2006, requires employers to ensure adequate information; instruction and training are given to their employees who are liable to be exposed to asbestos or who supervise such employees. The aim of the regulation is to ensure employees are equipped with the relevant skills and knowledge to enable them to either remove or supervise those removing asbestos safely, by minimizing their exposure to asbestos.
